Something old fashioned perhaps?…..
I have looked for years and years to find a 3 piece suit with a waistcoat that actually has lapels…..well…this season Australian based menswear label as produced what is now probably my go-to suit for winter.
I mean…COME ON! this suit just oozes Edwardian charm, I get so many compliments when I wear this its not funny (well…it sort of is) BUT! enough gushing..and down to business..which is the suit itself, which itself has quite a few rare features in suits these days. A 5 button waistcoat with lapels, turn ups on the trousers and peaked lapels.
Built on JL’s slim cut, in a lovely mid grey fabric. the “Clarke Mod suit” as its aptly named is a surprisingly simple thing to style, you need not try anything crazy…just a plain shirt and simple tie.
Here I styled it with a light blue button up shirt and brown wingcaps from Asos, a steel collar bar I found on eBay and a simple tie from Myer (kenji) I think the only downside to a suit like this…is that it can be overdone if you are not careful, then you stray too far into that try hard dandy territory that sometimes I see when people take something like a suit and wear waaaay to many elements, colours and patterns. It would be a perfect suit for a wedding or even Sunday if you are off to church.
you can find most of the items on Jack London’s online store here

We shot these photos in our parents office, it was a lovely overcast pre-winters day. so we added some warm light off to the side of me. Made for a rather lovely effect
